Today my wife is 50

Just to whet your appetite.

Picnic lunch:
Fresh garden tomatoes with fresh mozeralla, basil, cracked black pepper and EVO.

Smoked cobia and crackers.

Serrano jamon only because Iberian is not available here.

Bing cherries.

Fetzer Chardonnay.

Dinner:
Veal cutlets stuffed with serrano jamon and fontina, sauteed in butter and EVO. Sauce of pan drippings, garlic, fresh basil, chicken broth, juice of one lemon, a little cornstarch to tighten it up, salt and pepper to taste.

Sauteed brocclirabin in a little EVO and garlic.

Bow-tie pasta with a little EVA and parmessan reggiono and poppy seeds.

Merridian Pinot Noir

Dessert is fresh honeydew melon, sambuca and coffee.

GAE's daughter, her boyfrind Mike and his friend Barry came over last night for dinner.

Things were going along prety good until Barry (I guess because of my hair people confuse me with a liberal) asked me if I had seen Fahrenheit (!! (ugg I can't even type it). Before I could get my gun, GAE's daughter started yelling "we don't talk about that fat fuck in this house".

I was able to calm down enough to finish dinner without sticking my knife in the poor misguided boy.

Anyway, after dinner we sat down to listen to Nick Danger by Firesign Theater, (GAE's favorite) play Trival Pursuit (I won of course) and drink a bottle of Jamesons. Poor Barry was having a hard time consentrating (it may have been that we were all sitting on the floor in front of the sub-woffer) and getting a little drunk. By the time Nick had run over Rocky and was being arrested by Lt. Bradshaw, we had Barry wearing GAE's American Flag scarf (bought in lower Manhatten October 2001) on his head and my Gadson Flag draped over him.

I don't think we changed his mind about that fat slob, but at least he no longer thinks conservatives are boring. (Maybe I will take him to Target World the next time I go.)

Fun was had by all.

Oh my goodness thank you! You just reminded me that I still own a 12" vinyl copy of Firesign Theater's "Waiting for the electrician or someone like him" and haven't listened to it for so long that I remember absolutely nothing that is on it except for "Welcome to Side 3" (or is that another one of their discs?) because I didn't have a turntable, but now I DO have a bona-fide turntable that is hooked up and working, so I can listen to it tonight if I can wrest control of the entertainment center away from the vidiots!
